Bio
My name is Samuel IRAKOZE, a young leader from Burundi and a student at the University of Burundi, where I am pursuing my studies in English. My leadership journey has been shaped by my passion for youth empowerment, human dignity, peace, and community development. I currently serve as a Local Coordinator with Students For Liberty, and I have had the opportunity to contribute to youth leadership and civic engagement initiatives. I am also an Ambassador of the Yale Model African Union 6 and an active member of the African Youth Leadership Forum, where I continue to develop my leadership skills and engage with young people who are committed to building a better Africa. Recently, I was selected for the SELA Introductory Fellowship, an opportunity that motivates me to deepen my understanding of leadership and create meaningful change in my community. Inspired by these experiences, I am developing an idea called the Human Respect Leadership Academy (HRLA), a youth-led initiative designed to promote human respect, individual dignity, leadership, peace, inclusion, and civic responsibility. Through HRLA, my vision is to equip young people, especially those from vulnerable and marginalized communities, with the knowledge, confidence, and leadership skills they need to become responsible leaders and positive agents of change in Burundi, Africa, and beyond.
