I’m a construction professional in Lagos, currently deepening my skills to grow further in the field. What drives me is quality: I’ve seen buildings poorly constructed, put together by unskilled workers cutting corners on projects that should have been done right, and families who would go on to live or work in them. That’s what makes this personal, not abstract.

It’s also what drew me to SELA’s Introductory Pathway. I don’t come from an advocacy or volunteering background; my experience is on-site, not in activism. But the Pathway is built for exactly that: people who’ve seen a real problem and want the tools to act on it responsibly. I want to learn how to turn what I’ve observed into a structured project that improves how construction is managed and executed in my community, and to learn alongside other changemakers across Africa.
