Social Media Manager
Role Overview
You will own SELA Fellowship’s social media presence. You’ll create content, grow our audience, and tell the stories of young Africans learning, building, and leading.
Key Responsibilities
Content Strategy: Plan and execute a monthly content calendar for LinkedIn, Instagram, X/Twitter, and Facebook
Content Creation: Write captions, design graphics, and source stories from fellows and programs
Brand Amplification: Amplify our voice and engage sustainability leaders across the continent, positioning SELA fellowship as the number 1 product for sustainability leaders on the continent
Community Engagement: Respond to comments/DMs, and build relationships with stakeholders online
Growth: Run campaigns to increase followers, engagement, and applications to SELA programs
Analytics: Track performance and report monthly on reach, engagement, and insights to research lead
Brand: Ensure all content reflects SELA’s voice: sustainability leadership -centered, bold, educative
Eligibility
18 - 35 years old African.
Ability to work independently, be pro-active and take ownership with minimal supervision
Proven experience managing social media pages for a brand, NGO, or community. (Portfolio required)
Strong writing, storytelling, and basic design skills. Familiarity with Canva is a needed skill.
Deep understanding of social media trends and how to engage African changemakers online
Organized, self-driven, and able to meet deadlines
Commitment Requirement
No concurrent volunteer commitments in similar roles. Applicants must be able to dedicate their full attention and 10 hours weekly to this role to ensure excellent delivery
