Research Lead

Role Overview

You will lead the research agenda for SELA Fellowship. You’ll turn data and insights into action, ensuring our programs and advocacy are evidence-based and relevant to African youth.

Key Responsibilities

Research Design: Plan and lead surveys, interviews, and desk research on youth skills, employment, and leadership

Impact measurement: Collaborate with community manager in tracking SELA fellowship impact, and the impact of our fellows numerically to feed into the development of a well detailed quarterly & yearly report

Reporting: Compile and design the SELA fellowship quarterly & annual report

Knowledge Management: Build and maintain a weekly opportunity database to be shared with our community

Collaboration: Work with the Community Manager to gather insights and feedbacks from fellows which can be used in improving program quality

Thought Leadership: Contribute to blogs, webinars, and publications that position SELA as a voice for youth

Eligibility

18 - 35 years old African. (Female and marginalized people are encouraged to apply)

Ability to work independently, be pro-active and take ownership with minimal supervision.Ability to work independently, be pro-active and take ownership with minimal supervision

Proven experience with research methods, data analysis, and report writing is an added advantage

Strong analytical, writing, and presentation skills

Passion for using research to drive youth policy and program decisions

Commitment Requirement

No concurrent volunteer commitments in similar roles. Applicants must be able to dedicate their full attention and 10 hours weekly to this role to ensure excellent delivery
