The Sustainable Education and Leadership for Africa (SELA) Fellowship is a virtual program under the African Youth Mentorship Project. It helps young Africans become sustainability leaders by equipping them with the skills to start, grow, or improve their grassroots initiatives, NGOs, or social enterprises.
The SELA Fellowship is for young Africans (18–35) looking to start or grow their sustainability careers or impact initiatives. Applicants must be committed to community improvement, proficient in English, and based in Africa. The program is open to all, regardless of prior knowledge or experience.
The fellowship runs for three months, requiring 8-10 hours of commitment per week.
Yes, the fellowship is fully virtual, and participants will need access to a computer or mobile device with internet connectivity.
Fellows gain skills and learn how to start and grow sustainability projects, NGOs, and social enterprises.
Yes, fellows who successfully complete all requirements including a successful impact project will receive a certificate of completion.
No, the SELA Fellowship is fully funded and does not require any participation fee.

No, selected fellows will not receive any stipend. The fellows have to cover their own internet and community outreach effort.
